If so, their update probably reset everything to defaults causing windows 7 to detect a new network. As you can see from the image posted below the 'Order' setting has two blank entries in the beginning causing the problem. Actually, Network Access Denied due to permission problem only occurs when you do the LAN sharing without completes the sharing permission setting.
